To connect your Phone.com account with the Evaluation Softphone, follow the steps below.
1. Contact Phone.com to get a softphone extension configured.
As of the last update of this article, Phone.com requires that a softphone extension be set up through their support team. Once configured, you will have the SIP credentials you need to connect our evaluation softphone!
2. Login to Phone.com.
Click on the Configure menu item and select “Manage Users & Extensions”.
3. Next to the extension you would like to configure with Callinize, make sure it says “Softphone”. If it does not, follow the Phone.com instructions or call the Phone.com support to change this. Then click on “Edit Settings” for this extension as shown below.
4. Find the “View Server Details” button on the right hand side and click this button to get this users’s SIP credentials.
In the Callinize Sofphone, click the gear icon and select the Accounts tab. Choose “Add” to add a new account. In the dropdown list under Network, select “SIP”.
Enter your SIP username using the information from step 3: username@sipproxy
So, if Phone.com said that your username was 24958, you would enter email@example.com
Enter you password that was given by Phone.com in step 3. Click Add.
Be sure that the following encodings are configured in the softphone for your newly added Phone.com account.
Click on Connection.
Be sure that Keep alive method is REGISTER and interval is 0.
