Chrome Handlers (Telephone Handlers) Security Permissions

Chrome allows applications to register a handler service that maps special links to an application on your computer. You click the special link, the mapped application opens. The most common analogy is when you click an email link and it opens your email application.

We use this technology by operating from the handler “callinize:” which will open the Callinize softphone. More information can be found on Google’s support page.

By default, when you click on one of these special handlers a popup should come up that asks you if you want to open Callinize. If you accidentally click no and remember this setting, then it won’t ask you again and click to dial won’t work with the softphone.

Please check your settings by following Google’s instructions and making sure that Callinize is mapped to the “callinize:” handler.
