Originally launched as a small at-home telecom business in Auckland, New Zealand, IPFX has since expanded to serving customers on four continents. It serves to unify people, productivity, and communication through Computer Telephony Integration and contact center functionality. Having grown exponentially since its inception in 1995, the company is independently owned and represents a culmination of CEO and owner Kevin Plumpton’s efforts. After he had noticed a gap in the quality and availability of telephone systems, Mr. Plumpton started working on a computer-based voicemail system to allow employees to have real-time visibility of their colleagues. As the company evolved, it began to draw attention from international communication providers, which then led to partnerships with Microsoft, NEC, and Cisco Communications.
IPFX has a number of products, all of which are divided among the following subcategories: empowered communications, unified communications, unified contact center, and telephony. Some of its most popular options include the Intelligent Device Cloud, an industry-first that enhances mobile user experiences; IPFX EMPOWER, a technology that improves workplace and customer communication; and the innovative ‘Presence,’ a program that permits users to see the status and availability of other users in order to optimize a time for contact. IPFX features unified messaging that integrates multiple communication methods, SmartSearch, mobility, and video and online conferencing.
Deemed ‘Australia’s Best Value Professional Services’ at the 2005 BRW St George Client Choice Awards, IPFX was awarded an investment package worth NZ $800,000 from the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology.
