The result of a merger between KPNQwest Romania and GTS Romania, GTS Telecom is one of the premier integrated telecommunications providers in Eastern and Central Europe. Originally named KPNQwest/GTS Romania from March 2000 until 2004, the company changed its name to GTS following a merger. Its parent company has headquarters in the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland. KPNQwest launched in Romania in 1993 under the name EUnet. It was one of the first Romanian Internet service providers. In June 2010, GTS Telecom acquired Datek Telecom telecommunications, which had been on the market since 1994.
GTS offers international cloud solutions, voice services, Internet access, colocation in its own data centers in Bucharest, and data transmission. It is the only fiber network servicing all Eastern Europe and has 35,000 online customers.
