How to prepare for a discovery call

The discovery call takes place after first connecting with a potential customer, but before a true sales call. During the discovery call, a rep will find out basic information about the prospect and their company. What their role is, why is there a need for this product, what budget is at their disposal and other introductory topics. Getting this information early will allow the salesperson to tailor their call specifically to the prospect’s needs.
