DataDetective makes it easy to discover information about legacy-system data and capture additional metadata. As you add metadata, DataDetective automatically improves the transactions you use to explore and analyze legacy-system data.

The University of Utah DIGIT Lab used EnterpriseTenFold SOA to build the University of Utah Facility Management System (UUFM) in record time. UUFM elegantly integrates university planning operations by tracking space at many resolutions (room, division, dept, college), reporting space graphically and tabularly, and facilitating space planning. UUFM combined ESRI’s® enterprise geographical information systems (ArcSDE©) and TenFold technology to create UUFM. UUFM uses a geo-relational data model to answer spatial questions and to let TenFold handle user interfaces, database connections, software integration, and applications processing.
The SOA architecture of ESRI’s ArcSDE© and Enterprise TenFold SOA are strikingly similar, both have a metadata database (TenFold Dictionary and SDE) that controls the behavior of applications services. UUFM uses both metadata databases and stores all facilities data in a single UUFM applications database. This lets all data that TenFold manages to be viewed spatially, like on a map, but also makes it easy to analyze and report square footage GIS.

DrillDown is a budget-management application that two TenFold staff plus two Chugach Electric staff - an IT professional and a business person both without TenFold experience - designed, built, tested, and demonstrated within Chugach in ten working days. The team started on Monday morning, demonstrated DrillDown to a stakeholder group the next Monday, captured improvement ideas, and on Friday of week two demonstrated the finished DrillDown application as you see it in the movie.
Chugach was thrilled with DrillDown and felt that it met all their requirements, even though they had no design or requirements document and their ideas changed after the first demonstration. Chugach originally estimated two people one year to do requirements, figure out interfaces, and program DrillDown using traditional software development methods. But, the four-person team did it 25 times faster - in two weeks.
DrillDown lets a cost center manager sign-on and look at budget data for any time period and cost center, along side actual expenses. With button clicks the manager can drill down to see the exact detail of any actual expense. DrillDown automatically integrates data from Chugach's PeopleSoft General Ledger, Indus Utility Systems, and a Chugach-built budgeting system.

In EnterpriseTenFold SOA, BusinessRules are rules and logic that your TenFold-powered application uses to process your business transactions. Typically, you can maintain BusinessRules separately from changing your application. Some TenFold customers in the insurance industry, for example, define insurance policy pricing logic as BusinessRules and then let their Rating Department staff maintain those rules without involving IT.

WebField is a feature in EnterpriseTenFold that lets you turn any field in a transaction application into an embedded Internet browser. WebFields let you render live web pages or anything else a browser can display in what appears to be a graphic file in a transaction.

CustomerManager is a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) application that TenFold uses to manage its customer base. CustomerManager has unique, useful features not available in other CRM systems. One Support Specialist worked part-time building CustomerManager in 2 weeks, and had it in production by the end of the 3rd week. When we made this movie, we had completed roughly 3 person-weeks of full-time equivalent work, which doesn't include historic customer information data entry.
